Auditions for the 2011-2012 season

No preparation necessary.
Auditions will consist of a stress-free interview
and a short evaluation of the singer's current skills.
SV Boychoir is an after-school choir for boys ages 6 and up rehearsing in downtown Palo Alto. Boys will be placed in a choir level based on their skills and experience. The choirs will be taught by Julia Simon, an experienced choral director and voice teacher who specializes in training the voices of boys and young men.
Current classes (additional classes may be opened for 2011-2012):
| Overture Choir | Mondays 4:00-5:30 pm (an additional section may be opened on Tuesdays) |

(Beginning level), for boys ages 6 and up with limited skills. Skills covered: matching pitch, steady rhythm, vocal tone building, beginning sight-reading, repertoire: unison classical and folk music plus rounds. Meets once a week, 90 minutes plus small group Musicianship Class (see below*). | |
| Concert Choir | Wednesdays, 4:00-6:00 |
| (Intermediate/Advanced level), for boys ages 7-14 with previous choir experience and/or instrumental lessons, boys match pitch and are ready for 2-part music of choral standards including classical and contemporary works, continued sight-reading experience, more advanced tone building. Meets once weekly, 120 minutes plus small group Musicianship Class (see below*). | |
